About the Farm

Finca Lerida is located HERE

Finca Lérida is one of Panama's most historic and renowned coffee estates, located near Boquete in the Chiriquí highlands. Established in the early 1920s by Norwegian engineer Toleff Bache Mönniche—who, after working on the Panama Canal and seeking respite from malaria, founded Panama’s first gravity-fed coffee plantation

Why we love this farm

The farm made its mark by exporting the country’s first shipment of coffee to Germany in 1929, launching Panama’s global coffee reputation. Today, the estate—now family‑owned by the Amoruso/Chiari family—encompasses five farms between roughly 1,300 and 2,000 meters elevation, producing specialty varietals such as Geisha, Pacamara, Catuai, and Typica. With meticulous processing methods (washed, natural, honey, and anaerobic), the estate consistently wins awards and offers tours and boutique lodging amidst lush cloud‑forest surroundings
