About the Farm
Finca Lérida is one of Panama's most historic and renowned coffee estates, located near Boquete in the Chiriquí highlands. Established in the early 1920s by Norwegian engineer Toleff Bache Mönniche—who, after working on the Panama Canal and seeking respite from malaria, founded Panama’s first gravity-fed coffee plantation—the farm made its mark by exporting the country’s first shipment of coffee to Germany in 1929, launching Panama’s global coffee reputation
